This covered patio build in Allen is a perfect example of how a few key upgrades can completely transform a space. The homeowners already had a patio, but it wasn’t quite meeting their needs. So, we extended it just enough to allow for a more comfortable and functional layout — and then we went to work bringing their vision to life.
The new extended patio now includes a large seating area for family and guests, an attractive stone fireplace with a wooden mantle, a TV mounted above the hearth, and a dedicated grilling station on the side. One of the standout features is the motorized retractable patio screen, which wraps around the entire space. This screen creates a mosquito-free environment — crucial for enjoying North Texas evenings — and it also helps keep pets inside while still letting the breeze flow through.
We also added whimsical ceiling fans with tropical-style blades at the homeowner’s request, adding a personalized touch of charm to the space. As with every project we complete, this design was customized to perfectly attach to the existing roofline and blend seamlessly with the home’s architecture.
The fireplace adds a cozy and visual focal point, making the patio feel like an outdoor living room. The bar and seating layout allow for entertaining without crowding, and the retractable screen means the homeowners can instantly adjust the feel and function of the space with the push of a button.
And as a bonus feature, we installed a strip of synthetic turf along the side of the yard to keep the landscaping low-maintenance and fresh-looking all year round.
