This custom outdoor living project showcases Bobcat Custom Construction’s experience as a trusted covered patio contractor in Dallas. The goal was to create a patio that feels open, comfortable, and built to last for years, while also making smart structural improvements to the home.
We started by replacing a load-bearing beam in the existing framing, which allowed us to raise the ceiling height and open up the covered patio area. Strong support was key, so we installed engineered beams that meet code requirements and add to the overall look of the space. The new patio cover roof is supported by sturdy 10×10 posts, giving the structure a solid feel and a clean, finished appearance.
To make the patio more usable, we added concrete extensions that blend smoothly with the existing slab. This created extra room for seating, entertaining, and outdoor furniture, making the space more practical for everyday use and gatherings.
During construction, we also took care of exterior issues on the home. Our team replaced rotten siding along the back of the house on both the first and second stories, helping protect the home from moisture damage and keeping everything looking cohesive with the new patio.
We completed electrical updates to support the outdoor space, improving safety and making it easier to add lighting and future features. To help keep the patio cooler and more comfortable, we installed solar screens that reduce heat while still letting in natural light and maintaining visibility.
