This patio build in Frisco is the definition of a warm and welcoming outdoor space — designed to be equally enjoyable whether it’s the heat of summer or the chill of winter. The focal point of this stunning project is the custom outdoor fireplace, crafted with bespoke stonework and a chunky wooden mantel beam that grounds the space visually and structurally. Instead of traditional firewood-style inserts, this gas fireplace features modern fire balls, giving it a sleek, contemporary look. Mounted above is a TV, allowing the homeowners to enjoy entertainment while relaxing fireside.
The patio itself was built with stone tile flooring that adds natural texture and color to the space while offering excellent durability. Overhead, a solid roof structure with exposed wood accents and built-in fans provides both shelter and style. The natural wood tones bring warmth to the space and pair beautifully with the stone elements throughout.
In a separate area of the patio, a hot tub (provided by the homeowner) sits on a poured concrete slab. To integrate it visually with the rest of the space, Bobcat Custom Construction built a pergola over the hot tub using the same design language as the patio cover. The result is a cohesive, seamless outdoor environment that feels like a single, well-planned retreat.
One of the most rewarding aspects of this project was the collaboration with the homeowner. He brought a clear vision for what he wanted, but was open to design input that expanded the possibilities and improved the overall function and aesthetic of the space.
