At this home in Plano, the architectural layout created an awkward nook at the back corner of the house. Too small for lounging and seemingly out of place, it had become a default storage spot.
But when the homeowner brought in Bobcat Custom Construction to explore patio improvements, we saw this odd corner as a golden opportunity.
Our team proposed a solution that not only reclaimed the space, but made it one of the most functional and enjoyable areas of the backyard. We built an arbor over the nook, creating structure and shelter, and then installed a custom wooden cabinet to house a TV — perfectly visible from the nearby pool. Alongside that, we added an outdoor kitchen setup that includes a built-in smoker and grill. Now, whether it’s burgers sizzling on game day or just lounging poolside with the game on in the background, this space does it all.
The transformation speaks for itself, but what made this project extra special was the collaboration with the homeowner. Their enthusiasm and vision made it a pleasure from start to finish.
