This patio extension in Allen showcases how thoughtful design can elevate outdoor living. What started as a request to extend the roofline soon became a full backyard transformation that includes an outdoor kitchen, poolside lounging space, and even fencing upgrades.
The homeowners wanted to push the limits of their current outdoor area. Bobcat Custom Construction extended the existing roofline to create a much larger covered patio area — perfect for grilling, relaxing, and entertaining guests by the pool. At the heart of the new space is a built-in grill with custom stonework and a beautiful granite countertop, designed to serve both function and style. It’s a fully integrated cooking area that blends naturally into the extended patio design.
A unique design element in this build is the use of white siding for some of the vertical structural elements. Instead of the traditional stained wood posts and beams often seen in patio covers, this project took a more architectural route by wrapping select areas in white siding to match the home’s existing exterior. The result is a seamless connection between the old and new construction — a unified look that feels intentional and refined.
Beyond the patio itself, the homeowners also opted to upgrade their entire backyard enclosure. Bobcat Custom Construction installed a brand-new fence and added a motorized gate at the driveway, enhancing both the visual appeal and the security of the property. These additional features helped elevate the entire project from a simple patio extension into a fully coordinated outdoor renovation.
